For Sunita, mornings were the most uncomfortable part of the day. She would spend a long time in the toilet, straining to pass stools that were hard and unsatisfactory. Even after going, she felt like her bowels were not fully cleared. As the day progressed, gas and bloating would build up, making her abdomen feel heavy and uncomfortable by afternoon. Over the years, she tried everything that people commonly suggest - isabgol, warm water, ghee, home remedies, and occasional laxatives. Some days these helped, some days they didn’t. But the problem never truly resolved.
The breaking point came when she realized she was planning her mornings around the toilet and worrying about becoming dependent on laxatives. She wanted her bowels to work naturally, not with constant external help.
Her constipation was functional rather than structural. The gut was not moving efficiently, leading to slow stool movement, excessive water absorption, and hard stools. Gas buildup was secondary to prolonged stool retention and poor gut motility. Fibre intake was inconsistent and often excessive for her digestive capacity, which worsened bloating.
This was not a fibre-deficiency problem. Forcing stools with laxatives or excess fibre was worsening the cycle. The gut needed retraining to move regularly and comfortably on its own.
Warm water on waking, fixed toilet timing without force, balanced warm meals, adequate hydration through the day, short walks after meals, evening movement, and consistent sleep routine.
Stools softer. Less straining required. Gas intensity slightly reduced.
More predictable bowel movements. Incomplete feeling reduced.
Daily or alternate-day bowel movements without laxatives. Abdomen felt lighter.
Sunita maintains regular bowel movements with minimal gas or bloating. She no longer depends on laxatives or constant remedies and feels confident managing her digestion through routine and diet.
“The worst part about constipation is that the whole morning gets centered around whether i can clear my motion or not. Even after medicines and home remedies, the constipation was not improving. So when I approached Thavira, I didnt really have much hope. But as I followed their treatment, I realized that I was doing the right things, just not in the right order and consistency.. It was all about consistency. And with their frequent follow ups they made sure that I was following the routine strictly which made the whole journey easier. Thanks to Thavira for helping me fix such an irritating problem.”
